Heath I eat to stay healthy and have enough energy to fulfill my life. So, I choose healthy food i.e. fresh and as natural as possible. Ecology I respect the environment and care for the health of the Earth which produces my food. I choose locally sourced food, with simple packaging and whose production methods respect Eco-systems and livestock (no GMOs, chemical fertilizers, pesticides antibiotics or growth hormones) Justice I respect my brothers and sisters, here and throughout the whole world who work in the agri-food system and I am concerned for their living conditions, their welfare and their health. So, I preferably select certified Fairtrade products and I avoid food produced by multinational firms who behave unfairly towards their employees, their subcontractors and the countries where they are established. Spirituality When I eat, I commune with God, the creator who is present in all that exists (Earth, Sun, human beings and all other living and inanimate beings). So, I give thanks to God for all the gifts He has made available to me. I ask forgiveness for the "sins of the world" and I commit to making the necessary life choices to help heal the world of its sins. | The two pictures opposite form a 2-sided small square promotional leaflet, created by SIAF, Service intercommunautaire d'animation franciscaine which aims to make Franciscan spirituality known and to refocus its vision in our world today.
