Lord, please help us see you reveal yourself in Others so that we can be instruments of your PEACE. | Article 19 of our SFO Rule reminds us that we are “bearers of peace” seeking ways of unity and striving to bring joy and hope to others. Who are the “others” in our lives? Let’s think of them as the Convenient Others and the Inconvenient Others. The Convenient Others are relatively easy to help and to bring joy into their lives. They smile easily, express their gratitude and are easy to love. They are easy to understand. The Inconvenient Others are more difficult to reach and to bring comfort. Communication can be awkward and they are difficult to understand. St. Francis of Assisi Fraternity, PEI will focus on Mental Health at their fraternity meeting, Sunday, May 3 2015. This is particularly relevant to us as we strive to understand the Inconvenient Others, as we try to bear peace to the Inconvenient Others, as we try to see all others as revealers of God’s love. The Inconvenient Other is an opportunity for us to live our Rule and bring joy and hope. Thank you to Michael Cassidy for this submission. |
